This was my first CE class since getting my license. I have heard all of the things about how CE is miserable, boring and it just takes forever. This class was actually the opposite in that it was very interesting. Easy to follow along and easy to be engaged with. I think J. The subject matter of property management is just mundane and I don’t think there’s anything that can be done about that. However, I felt you did a really good job with changing up the delivery method of the different topics. With some aspects being more like a quiz while others were more conversational. For example, the interactions between the participants helped prevent them from getting stir crazy. The length of the break times seemed substantial and adequate which I also believe provided some relief.

The chapter review guide worked great for me! At first, all the highlighting with special colors, and writing page numbers, seemed unusual. However, it works! I will take that trick forward into my study habits.
I loved the schedule with no more than two (2) 10 hour days per week. This worked well with my work schedule, and still provided enough time outside of class to study, learn, and prepare. Also, the 1 week break was needed and very useful - if you use it to get ahead in the chapter reading.
I think the key to being successful in this course is being interested and engaged. J. Pat, you keep us interested, and on task, with the appropriate breaks. I enjoyed the videos!

The BIG R.E.D School Pre-license class has been very beneficial in helping me prepare for taking the real estate licensing exam. The way that it is structured really helped me focus on key concepts and not focus so much on the book filling. J. Being able to come together as a class and compare answers and pages in which we found those answers helps to better understand concepts that may be difficult. I truly was out of my comfort zone, entering into the classroom and not knowing what to expect. I think everyone in class was somewhat overwhelmed, but J. Pat made everyone feel comfortable and less anxious. His teaching method has helped me retain information that I never thought was possible. He takes the time to make sure you understand the material until you feel comfortable with it. It has truly been a pleasure learning and building relationships with our fellow students and with J. Pat. He really makes a point to teach you about building relationships and how important that is. Overall a 10 out of 10!

This class packs in a lot of foreign material in a very short period of time. That has been my main obstacle. However, I am surprised how J. Pat can hold my attention for 10 hours. You can tell by his mannerisms, personality, and strong presence that he was a coach; and on day one of class, his masters in counseling very much shines through. J. Pat is unique in his teaching style with the importance of connecting with your fellow classmates and learning how to relate to each other, in addition to helping each other stay on par. He can read you and know if you are not connecting with the material and very patiently will work it out with you. I enjoy his motivational videos and I enjoy his hands on teaching approach that does not have him facing a board the whole time, or reading straight from power point slides.

The teacher of this course is J. Pat Newland. J. Pat is a very well spoken and knowledgeable teacher. He not only guided me through the process of learning all there is to know about real estate, but he encouraged me to think deeper and get to know myself better so that i can be my best self at whatever it is I do. J. Pat’s class was 10 hours long but I can honestly say I was never bored. If you're looking to learn the material to pass the Arkansas Real Estate exam you have plenty of options in NWA or online, but why you should choose The BIG R.E.D. (Real Estate Development) School is more than text in a 400 plus page book. First off, if you're anything like me you might of signed up for this class without any expectations, besides learning content for the exam. Well, prepare to have expectations exceeded. The learning environment is key to your success in this class. You will build new professional relationships from the interactions with guests speakers and/or classmates. Understanding peop­le is important to becoming a successful real estate agent and understanding how to get out of your comfort zone will be one big key take away from this class. Second be reassured time is always made for Q&A. The instructor knows his success isn't without our success, so understanding the context is his goal for every page read or any conversation discussed. Finally, I would so recommend taking this class versus an online cou­rse any day because of the passion you get from the instructor and the interactions you have with your classmates.
